Housing Application and Process
If you need assistance in regards to the flooding please check here:

To see application dates for the 9% Tax Credit round, please go to our Housing Tax Credits page.
The Montana Board of Housing requires that developers submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) and be invited to submit a full application. If you have questions, please contact us.
Updated submission process as of March 13, 2024
- Please request a one-drive link at dochdmf@mt.gov as there is no longer a funding portal. The QAP states: “Submit all requirements in OneDrive. Notify staff to request OneDrive submittal folder two weeks prior to deadline.”
- Please also note for the LOI round to use market rate funding sources in the write up. If you would have used a coal trust loan in the funding stack, write that in the narrative and explain how many more units that could have added. If selected at the LOI stage and there are still coal trust funds available, we ask that you would submit a coal trust loan application along with your 9% application in August.
Submit all LOI/Application requirements in OneDrive. Notify staff to request OneDrive submittal folder two weeks prior to deadline. Send an email to dochdmf@mt.gov with the project name and emails of your team who need access to the OneDrive folder.
